Google Business Profile Tips for Ceramic Coating Shops

Categories, services, photos, posts and reviews: what to set up and what to do every week.

For a ceramic coating shop, your Google Business Profile is often the first thing a buyer sees, before your website, before your Instagram. These are the settings and habits that make it work.

Pick the right categories

Your primary category carries the most weight. If coatings are your main business, choose the closest match Google offers, usually "Car detailing service", and add related categories for what else you do: paint protection film, window tinting, auto restoration. Check what the top shops in your area use; it's visible on their profiles.

List every service, with descriptions

In the Services section, add each package separately: "Ceramic coating, 1-year", "Ceramic coating, 5-year", "Paint correction, 1-step", "Interior detail". Give each a short description in plain words. Buyers read these, and they help your profile match more searches.

Photos that sell coatings

  • Water beading shots right after application.
  • Before and after of paint correction, in the same light, from the same angle.
  • Your bay: clean, well lit, with lights for inspection. It signals a careful shop.
  • The products you use, if you're certified for a brand.

Add a few every week rather than fifty at once. Fresh photos are a sign the business is active.

Post every week

A post with a photo of a car you just coated, the car's make and model, and the package is enough. It shows buyers what you do and keeps your profile looking alive. Seasonal posts also work: coating before winter road salt, before summer sun.

Get reviews that mention the work

Ask every customer, right after pickup, with a direct link. When reviews mention the service and the car ("5-year ceramic on my Model 3"), they help your profile show up for those searches. You can't tell people what to write, but you can say "it really helps if you mention what we did".

Answer every review

Thank people by name and mention the job. For a bad review, reply calmly, once, and offer to make it right. Buyers read the replies as much as the reviews.

Link it to your website

Point your profile's website link to your home page, and add an appointment or booking link if you take bookings online. Make sure your website lists the same name, address and phone, word for word.

Fifteen minutes a week

New photos, one post, review requests and replies. That's the routine. It's also exactly what we handle for clients: you text us job photos and we do the rest. See Business Profile management.
