How Long Does SEO Take for a PPF or Tint Shop? The First 90 Days

What works on day one, what takes months, and why it's a snowball, not a light switch.

The question every shop owner asks, usually a few weeks in: "When am I going to get leads from this?" It's a fair question. Here's the honest answer, using our own shop's numbers.

Day one: stop losing the leads you already get

Before Google sends you a single new person, most shops are already losing jobs: calls that ring out while you're under a car, quote forms that get a reply the next morning. Those are fixed the day you switch on missed-call text back and instant replies. That's the only part that works like a light switch.

Weeks 2–6: Google starts finding your pages

New pages (one for each service, each town you serve, each car you wrap most) usually start showing up in Google within a few weeks. At first they show up low on the page and for small searches. That's normal. Google is testing where they belong.

Months 2–3: the map gets stronger

The map results are where most local buyers click. They reward a Business Profile that's complete, posted to every week, and getting fresh reviews. None of that is a single fix. It's a habit, and after two or three months of it the profile starts showing up for searches beyond your shop's name.

Months 3–6 and on: the snowball

This is where it starts to pay. Each new page, post and review adds to the ones before it. At our own shop, Skyline Customs in Chantilly, VA, Google search views went like this (Google Search Console, full months):

  • February 2026: 1,001
  • March: 3,355
  • April: 4,391
  • May: 5,139
  • June: 9,219
  • September: 10,938

Clicks from Google went from 45 a month to 169 over the same months. The first month looks small. By month four search views were five times the first month, and they kept climbing.

Why shops give up too early

A lot of shops that say "SEO didn't work for us" stopped at month two, right before it starts to build. The other common mistake is judging it by leads in week three. Judge the first months by what's moving: pages showing up in Google, search views going up, more calls and direction requests from your Business Profile.

If you need jobs this week

SEO is the slow, cheap, lasting way. Paid ads are the fast way: they can fill next week, and they stop the day you stop paying. Plenty of shops run both. Ads for now, SEO so they need fewer ads later.

The short version

  • Day one: answer every call and quote request in seconds.
  • Weeks 2–6: new pages show up in Google.
  • Months 2–3: weekly posts and reviews make the map listing stronger.
  • Months 3–6+: it snowballs. Don't quit at month two.
